Graduation Project 2015 Sponsor: The Marg Foundation, Mumbai Guide: Tarun Deep Girdher

This was my final class-room project I did while at the National Institute of Design. The aim was to revamp the existing diary/planner to make it more exciting and student friendly. I decided to make two editions. The idea was to create something that was different that would encourage creativity. That is why I did away with the dates from the inside pages and instead used grids and patterns. Some which are familiar and some new.

D/Signed is a magazine that showcases the work of the faculty and students of the National Institute of Design. This issue was designed by us for the Research and Publications Dept, NID.

This was part of my illustration course where I had to illustrate the great Rabindranath Tagore's poem 'Where the mind is without fear'. After a lot of deliberation I decided to make it about the hand, the heart and the mind. The idea is that the hand unlocks the heart which sets the mind free. These scarfs are designed using Tibetan Buddhist symbols, the art works were created in Gangtok, Sikkim.

These are various illustrations and art works I have done.

This booklet was part of an elective course where we redefined the identity of the elderly. We looked at the different and off beat things that the elderly are doing, things that society says they are too old to do, but they are still doing them and great at it.

This is a paper cut out art work I made for a competition entry. It is the identity for a salon which specialises in doing a specific kind of curly wave hair do, that is why I have made the hair in spirals. These are some of the options.

This was done as part of my course work while studying typefaces. I had to study the typeface 'Amplitude' and create a booklet on it.

As part of my graduation project I did a series of illustrations for The Marg Foundation on the Sanchi Stupa. The main Stupa has four gateways, all four carry an identical theme on the top, a set of seven trees. A set of seven trees which correspond to the seven earthly Buddhas of which Gautama had been the seventh. This series of paper cut illustrations is of those seven trees.

This was part of a competition entry where I had to make a wine bottle label and its identity.

As part of our course work we had to document any visual culture. I chose to document the different ways in which Islamic women wear the purdah. All the illustrations used in this publication are done by me. All the images used in this document are from the internet and were used for purely educational purposes.

I made this personalised calendar for my friends.
